firefox and blackberry, cool combo
I was a Chrome user until 30 minutes ago. Like many people, I used Mozilla, and then Firefox in the past and eventually ended up using Chrome. Recently I have found that Chrome was becoming more a memory hog than ever, turning glitchy at times, and totally consuming every resource on my PC. Registry patches and option tweaking until blue in the face doesn’t really fix much. I have wanted a good reason to switch everything back to Firefox, but laziness prevails and I stick with Chrome … until now!
While browsing around the Android market I noticed Firefox, and thought I’d check it out – see how well it runs on my Z30. Long story short, it runs perfectly. This means I can now use Firefox sync and have all my bookmarks and passwords available on my phone in perfect synchronization with my PC. I have found an excellent reason to leave Chrome behind!
I use a hand full of extensions extensions with Chrome, and it should be no surprise that many of the same extensions are available with Firefox. So far the only one I haven’t seen is the BB10/Playbook Manager, which I use just to sideload BAR files to my phone – I can live without it, or simply use Chrome if I ever have to sideload something.
So, until Google comes up with a dedicated Chrome app for Blackberry 10, it looks like I’m a Firefox user again.
Adios Chrome!!
