When I’m scrolling through websites on my laptop I’m constantly zooming in and out on the web page, and it gets annoying. If you use Firefox and a Touchpad device, and find yourself equally as irritated, there is a salvation.
You could go into your device settings of course and completely disable the zoom functionality:
However, this will disable the zoom function with all applications on your computer. Since I like to use zoom with other programs, this is not a desirable method to fix my web frustrations.
How to Disable Touchpad Zoom with Firefox
Open a new window or tab and type: about:config in the address bar. Click OK (or whatever) when you get the warning. You should see a long list of all the configuration settings for Firefox.
In the search bar at the top, type: mousewheel.with_control.action
The default value of this setting should be 2, 3 or 4. Double click this line, and enter a value of 0 (zero), and click OK.
If you have any websites currently loaded and are zoomed, you may have to clear your browsing history.
That’s it – you’re finished.
